Proverbs 11:6
The Bible often speaks of “transgressors.” They are those who have transgressed the moral law, and they shall be taken in their own naughtiness. The word naughty tends to conjure up thoughts of a bratty child. But it means more than just a childish throwing of a tantrum. It carries a meaning of being wayward, rebellious, and disobedient. We were once rebels—children of wrath who were hopelessly ensnared by sin—but we have been delivered from its deadly power. However, those who die as transgressors will be judged by the law. They will be taken in their own sin. What a fearful thing! Going by my actions, are my plans for this day mine or God’s?
