What We Believe

The Statement of Our Faith

Our Mission Statement

At Mount Zion Baptist Church, we believe that we're a small church with a mega mission.
Our mission statement reflects this:

To Empower people through Preaching and Teaching the Word of God and by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to Evangelize souls for Christ.

WE believe in GOD the Father.

WE believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living GOD, and our Savior.

WE believe in the Holy Spirit, both as to His agency in conversion and as indwelling in the heart of the Christian.

WE believe and accept the Old and New Testament as the inspired Word of GOD.

WE believe that the Deity is a prayer-hearing and prayer-answering GOD.

WE believe that all the ordinances should be observed as they were in the days of the Apostles.

Romans Road: The Plan for Our Salvation

Paul, through his writings in the Gospels, shows us a path to salvation in Jesus Christ. The scriptures in what is known as "Romans Road" offers us an understanding of our earthly nature and how we can complete God's plan for our salvation in our own lives.

Romans 3:23

For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of GOD.

Romans 5:12

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin; and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of GOD is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 5:8

But GOD demonstrates HIS own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 10:9-13

That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that GOD has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
