Proverbs 10:31
The dumbest of us speak the wisest words when we tell a dying world that they can live forever in Christ. Does our mouth bring for such wisdom? Have we filled our heart with biblical truths on how sinners can be saved, so the Bible’s abundance comes out of our mouth? Can we say with the disciples, “We cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20)? It’s wise to tell sinners to repent and trust alone in Jesus. The proud may see the preaching of the cross as foolishness, but on the great and terrible day of wrath, they will be eternally remorseful for not having the wisdom to obey our words. May God help us to reach them before that day!
