Is Jesus at Home in Me? – John 14:23-24

In some of the final words that Jesus would share with His disciples in the Upper Room, He reminded them again of the importance of obedience. Judas (not Iscariot) wanted to know how Jesus would manifest Himself to them. Simply put, Judas wanted to know when a great, unforgettable moment would happen that would set the disciples apart from the rest of the world because of the special relationship they had with Him. How much more profound it is that our Lord would choose to display His love and care for us by making His home in us! But it all hinges on obedience. Obedience to God’s Word, not just knowledge of it, is what declares our true faith. How great it is that the Lord yearns to be at home in us! May we offer to Him all He needs to make our lives the home He desires!
