Resembling Christ

Matthew 5:12-16

Jesus’ disciples were such enthusiastic witnesses of His teaching that those who lived in Antioch nicknamed them “Christians,“ or “Christ ones.“ Their unusual character and zeal quickly identified them as His followers. They were continually preaching, praying, and showing forth the grace of God with earnestness and love. Filled with the power of His Spirit, they reminded everyone of Jesus. If we love Jesus as the disciples did, seeking to “live as Jesus did,“ the world will notice before long that our lives have taken on His characteristics and virtues. They will see Jesus in us! At home, at work, and at school, can others see our Savior demonstrated in us by what we say and by how we act? Just how much do we resemble Christ? Christians, like mirrors, should reflect the light and glory of Christ to a dark world.
