The enemy has deceived many to believe that they obtain salvation by Good works. Those that buy the lie move away from the reality of Jesus’ sacrifice and focuses on their efforts to earn favor with God. That logic is based on a system of doing work and earning a reward. Therefore, concerning our faith for eternity, some follow the same logic that good works equals payment…the reward for a life’s work. God wants us to do well, but not for the purpose of earning our salvation. Paul made it clear when he told us that we have “died” and that our lives are “hidden with Christ in God.” Therefore, we need to set our minds on things above and not on the temporary things of this life.
