Have you ever considered why we‘re saved? We are saved for a reason…to bring God glory. No doubt He will receive glory in the end by demonstrating His power and saving us. But God wants to be glorified now, and we should want to glorify Him. The way we glorify Him is by living like saved individuals, different from those who are not. Jesus said we are the light of the world. Not we will be, or we can be, or we should be, but that we are. The purpose is so those around us can see the light that is in us and glorify God. This is done through good works. When we choose to be Christians in name only, we cover up our lights. To let our lights shine means people see us doing things that Christians do, such as attending church regularly, tithing, performing some function at church, and ministering and witnessing to others. Jesus gives you the light; don’t cover it up.
